GREATER MIAMI & THE KEYS CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS RAISED CRITICAL FUNDS AT GARDEN PARTY IN KEY WEST
MIAMI, FLA., (FEBRUARY 13, 2024) – On Saturday, February 3, 2024, the Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter of the American Red Cross hosted Garden Party in Red in the lush north garden of the Harry S. Truman Little White House in Key West. The event raised nearly $130,000 for Red Cross services and programs in Monroe County.
At the event, the Red Cross celebrated over a century of service helping families in Monroe County recover after local disasters such as hurricanes and home fires. Relief to Monroe County residents has come in the form of food, shelter, financial assistance, health and emotional support, recovery services, and so much more. Every day, the Red Cross is at work in the Keys – not just during hurricane season – helping prevent personal catastrophes and offering relief when they occur.
Guests enjoyed a curated menu by Chef James Jernigan, executive chef at the Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel, including exquisite wines, champagne, a live band, all while supporting the lifesaving mission of the Red Cross.
The event was chaired by John Spottswood, III and Mayor Holly M. Raschein, Board members of the Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter.
“Thanks in part to the funds raised at this event, our critical disaster preparedness and response programs will continue uninterrupted,” said Mayor Holly M. Raschein, a Board Member of the Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter.
“We are grateful to our generous donors whose commitment ensures that the Red Cross can continuously deliver its mission of alleviating suffering in the face of disasters here in the Florida Keys,” said Deborah Koch, executive director for the Greater Miami & The Keys Chapter. “Their support of the Red Cross means that families facing life-changing emergencies, like a home fire or a hurricane, won’t have to handle these challenging moments alone.”
Thank you to our sponsors for their generous support. Platinum Sponsor: The Helmerich Trust. Gold Sponsors: The Spottswood Companies and Charley Toppino & Sons, Inc. Silver Sponsors: Thomas & Brenda Callahan, First State Bank, Holly M. Raschein, W. Ann Reynolds and Truman & Co.
All proceeds from the Garden Party in Red event will benefit American Red Cross preparedness, response and recovery programs and services.
