Police Grinch Spreads Joy in Key West

The Key West Police Department’s Grinch heart has grown 100 times its original size! And so we’re sharing the joy by reaching out to reward members of the community for driving safely and following traffic laws.

Our Grinch Traffic Officers Jesse Young and Randall Hartle have worked in school zones all day, handing out gift cards. Many Whoville families will have a brighter Christmas, thanks to the community partners who donated to this Grinch Christmas!

The project was the brainchild of Motor Unit Officer Jesse Young. “We especially wanted to reach out to drivers in the school zones,” he said, “so we could make the holidays a little brighter for families with children.”

The kids were loving it, thrilled that the Grinch does, indeed, have a heart.

In all, the Grinch duo handed out 60 gift cards to happy families.
