The Art of Public Art Workshop, for upcoming City Art Douglass Community Center project, November 14th
Please join Elizabeth Young, Public Art Administrator for the City of Key West’s Public Art program, and Cori Convertito, PhD, Curator & Historian of the Key West Art & Historical Society for The Art of Public Art Application Workshop. We will discuss how to apply for public art projects, explain Request for Proposals process for the City of Key West and other public art opportunities. The workshop is Tuesday, November 14th at 4 pm, at the William Weech American Legion Post 168 located at 803 Emma Street in Key West.
Specifically, we will discuss an upcoming project for the city of Key West, The Douglass Community Center on Fort and Olivia Streets.
The Art of Public Art Workshop will explore examples of winning proposals, what to look for in a call, how artists might address prompts and targeted spaces, artist statements and how to present a proper CV/resume.
This workshop is offered free of charge by the Florida Keys Council of the Arts and we would greatly appreciate an RSVP so that we are prepared. Please RSVP to Liz Young, at [email protected]
