No serious injuries reported in plane crash
A small plane reportedly crashed into the Gulf of Mexico approximately 4.5 miles north of Marathon, Florida at approximately 2:15 p.m. Tuesday.
The U.S. Coast Guard as well as Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to the incident.
The lone adult male passenger was taken to U.S. Coast Guard Station Marathon.
Man dies following snorkeling incident
An adult male died Tuesday following a snorkeling incident off Key West.
The man was with a Sebago Watersports boat when he lost consciousness after returning to the commercial vessel at approximately 10:37 a.m.
The boat crew began CPR and he was taken to Lower Keys Medical Center on Stock Island where he was pronounced dead.
Foul play is not believed to be a factor in the incident.
Autopsy results are pending.
Man arrested for battery
A 45-year-old Key Largo, Florida man was arrested Tuesday for shoving and injuring another man during a road rage incident.
Shaun Patrick Keefe was charged with battery.
Keefe pushed the 74-year-old male victim in a parking lot near Mile Marker 105 on Monday during a traffic dispute. The victim fell to the ground after being pushed. He was taken to Mariners Hospital in Tavernier and then to a hospital in Miami due to injuries suffered from the incident.
There were no life-threatening injuries reported.
