2023 Fantasy Fest poster and T-shirt design contest winner signs works at La Concha Hotel on Saturday, Oct 21
Nyssa Jordan, 20, of Highlands Ranch, CO, winner of the 2023 Fantasy Fest poster and T-shirt design contest, signs her works at the Florida Keys Council of the Arts Fantasy Fest poster and T-shirt signing event at the La Concha Hotel on Saturday. A college student currently studying Digital Design and Computer Science at the University of Colorado Denver, Nyssa said that for this year’s “Uniforms & Unicorns—200 Years of Sailing into Fantasy” theme, she decided to create an early 19th century naval officer astride a unicorn emerging from the sea on a wave, “to bring fantasy to the fest.” She incorporated some iconic Key West symbols, such as the Mile 0 logo, and landmarks— the Southernmost Point and “200 YEAR ANNIVERSARY” as the emblem on the unicorn’s armor— among other details. Fantasy Fest 2023 runs through Oct. 29 and is presented in part by the Monroe County Tourist Development Council and We’ve Got the Keys.
