Convicted felon arrested on gun/drug charges
A 30-year-old Homestead, Florida man was arrested following a traffic stop Thursday on U.S. 1 that led to the discovery of a loaded handgun and marijuana.
Craig Adonis Etherly was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and violation of probation.
Etherly was in a red Toyota that was stopped at approximately 8:49 p.m. near Mile Marker 107 given the registered owner had a suspended license. A strong odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle.
A loaded 9mm handgun and approximately 12.5 grams of marijuana were found, all of which Etherly claimed ownership.
Etherly has a previous drug-related conviction in 2021. He was taken to jail.
