Two arrested on drug charges

Two Homestead, Florida people were arrested after a traffic stop Sunday in which fentanyl, methamphetamine, and marijuana were found.

Rickeita Roseanna Brown, 32, was charged with trafficking 8.8 grams of fentanyl, possession of baggies with fentanyl and methamphetamine residue, and possession of 8.6 grams of marijuana.

Ulysses Randolph Monos, 40, was charged with possession of a 1.8 grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine mixture and possession of .4 grams of marijuana.

The traffic stop for an expired license tag occurred at approximately 11:20 p.m. on Hawk’s Cay Boulevard. Both suspects were taken to jail.


Two cited for illegal fish in separate incidents

The Sheriff’s Office gave mandatory notice to appear citations to two people in separate incidents for possessing illegally harvested fish.

  • A 21-year-old Wimauma, Florida man was given a mandatory notice to appear in court citation on Saturday for possessing undersized mangrove snappers. Lower Keys Deputy Jacob Ladd was conducting resource checks at the old Wooden Bridge on Big Pine Key at approximately 8:57 p.m. when he found four mangrove snappers under 10 inches in Hunter Wayne Boyd’s possession.
  • Islamorada Marine Deputy Nelson Sanchez was conducting resource checks at approximately 12:03 p.m. Sunday in bayside waters near Mile Marker 83 when he found 35-year-old Lucia Borrego De La Cruz of Homestead, Florida in possession of an undersized mangrove snapper.
