Man arrested in stabbing/theft

A 29-year-old Miami, Florida man was arrested Monday following a Stock Island stabbing and robbery. There were no life-threatening injuries reported.

Henry Fernando Galeano-Amador was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and armed robbery.

The incidents began at approximately 5:55 p.m. at the Key West Golf Club fence line along U.S. 1 where Galeano-Amador got into an argument with other homeless men. A fight ensued; one victim was stabbed in the back and arm. Another victim was stabbed near the ribs. Galeano-Amador fled on foot.

He confronted a third victim nearby and robbed him of his bicycle at knifepoint. Galeano-Amador dumped the bicycle near U.S. 1 and north College Road. He was found at the Key Haven Shell gas station and detained.

Galeano-Amador confessed to the stabbings and robbery. The victim stabbed in the back and arm was airlifted to a Miami hospital via Trauma Star.
