Love On The Rock – A novel by Mandy Murray

Love on the Rock is a love story that is really a tribute to the people of Key West.

The heroine is a young English woman who, though born in England, had an American mother who was from Key West.

Our heroine, Saffy, had never been to America, having enjoyed a great upbringing with her mother and her English father but, after her mother died unexpectedly, decided to travel to Key West, where her mother had lived, as a kind of pilgrimage,

In doing so she discovers far more about her mother than she ever knew, falls in love with Key West and falls for a flight instructor who lives on the island.

The story features some well-known Key West residents and famous local places that people who live on the island will readily recognise and from which those who are visitors, or have never been, will learn a lot about Key West.

The Author

Mandy has been visiting Key West for many years and has seen a lot of changes in that time. One thing she knows that has not changed is the wonderful warmth and generosity of its people.

Key West is a unique place and the people are very special.

Over the years she has come to know the island and its surrounding waters well and she believes that there is no place like it in the world.

The welcome and acceptance that she has received is particularly special as she is a trans woman, who will always love the people of the island for this and be grateful for what they have done for her.

The inspiration for the story is really based on many experiences that Mandy has had both on land and on the water and the heroine’s story is really the one that she would like for herself.
