Free Tickets Available for Florida Keys Nonprofit Day

Professionals from charitable organizations across the Keys will convene on Tuesday, September 12, for Florida Keys Nonprofit Day. The event, to be held from 1:30-5 p.m. at the Marathon Community Theatre, is free to paid staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations, students, and community members interested in nonprofit service. Pre-registration at cffk.org/nonprofitday is required.

The afternoon will feature a keynote presentation on Artificial Intelligence for Nonprofits, presented by Shlomi Ron, founder and CEO of the Visual Storytelling Institute.

Shlomi will then join a panel of experts on Storytelling for Nonprofits, to include Hannah Edwards from Habitat for Humanity of Key West & the Lower Florida Keys, Wendy Gentes from Baptist Health Foundation and Gabriela Rojas from the Miami Diaper Bank. The panel will be moderated by award-winning writer, reporter and storyteller extraordinaire Mandy Miles.

Florida Keys Nonprofit Day is presented by the Florida Keys Funders Alliance, led by the Community Foundation of the Florida KeysOcean Reef Community Foundation and United Way of Collier and the Keys.

“Over 100 people participated in the first annual Florida Keys Nonprofit Day. The feedback was excellent; however, the nonprofit professionals all said they want to spend more time networking with one another,” said Jennifer McComb from the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. McComb said that in response they have added an additional networking session, “Speed Dating for Nonprofits” before the speakers, in addition to the end-of-day reception sponsored by First State Bank of the Florida Keys.
