Your man on the high seas!
By Bruce
Day three of our 15 day Oceania Cruise visiting Sweden and Norway aboard the MS Marina. It’s a classy mid-sized ship catering to an upscale international clientele.
Fine furnishings throughout with small lamps lining the passageways. Friendly room stewards push heavy wooden service carts and make up our suite whenever we so much as crack the door.
Dinner started last night in the Grand Dining Room with rare sweet lotus flower salad. Main course included an endless selection of delicious entrees. The Surf & Turf whole Maine Lobster and large Filet Mignon was delightful. Dessert selections featured Chocolate, Chocolate, Volcano Chocolate Cake and a Flaming Creme Brûlée.
I joined many ladies for Rejuvenating and Enlightening Yoga class yesterday morning. Mastered all the poses including Downward Dog, Baby Cobra, and one I invented myself called “Big Cat Sleeping.”
At High Tea yesterday, we raised our pinkies and compared three types of caviar served on fine china with salt free air crackers.
We skipped the fine art auction last night, but, are dressing in our best Key West fashion for the formal reception this afternoon.
The ocean is calm early this morning, as if resting. Classical music is playing softly throughout the quiet ship as a warming sun rises slowly over the placid dark blue sea.
Think I’ll go off my meds today and cause a ruckus in the piano bar tonight!

Thanks, Bruce–evokes memories on my and Cynthia’s glory days on Regent, especially the South Seas, when I posted as you are doing, to a Key West paper. Ah, the caviar, and “sleeping cat”–I think I could actually do that one. Hope you raised the roof in the piano bar–who needs his meds on the open ocean?? appreciate your travels now. We are now too damn old even for cruising.
