It’s A Wrap!

Friday, July 28, was the final workday for students participating in the 2023 A Positive Step of Monroe County “Idle Hands Summer Youth Employment Program.” Since 2010, with the support of area organizations and individuals, APSMC has partnered with the City of Key West to provide paid summer jobs for Key West High School students aged 16 and up who are returning to school in the fall. This summer, eighteen students interned in seven City departments: Alisha Valeus in Code Enforcement; Rood Thania Pierre in Geographic Information Systems (GIS); Jeremiah Harvey, Jerven Louis, Josue Thanus, and Dumel Voltaire in Transportation; Youma Midy, Eliany Leal Espinoza, and Dazmine Jenkins at the KWPD; Tcheniya Brevil and Magdalena Vazquez Marquez in the Multimodal Transportation area of the Engineering department; and Clerf Alexandre, Stanley Clermont, Dajon Edwards, Zaikee Lopez, Brianna Nelson, Ralph Riche, and Landawa Sylla at the Key West City Cemetery.
