Man arrested for illegal lobster
A 39-year-old Lauderhill, Florida man was arrested Saturday for a litany of lobster violations.
Orestes Mirabal Valdes was charged with possession of out-of-season lobster, possession of wrung lobster tails in the water, possession of undersized lobster, possession of over-the-limit lobster, and harvesting lobster without a measuring device.
Middle Keys Marine Deputy Willie Guerra was patrolling the Channel Five Bridge at approximately 6:45 p.m. when he observed a man, later identified as Mirabal Valdes, diving without a dive flag and in possession of a wrung lobster tail in the water. A plastic bag had more lobster inside.
Mirabal Valdes was found to be in possession of eight illegally harvested wrung lobster tails in total. He was taken to jail.
