KWHS Lady Conch Honored

Mayor Teri Johnston and the City Commission, during this week’s commission meeting, recognized the outstanding achievements of the Key West High School Lady Conchs softball team, whose season ended with a 19 – 4 record.

During back-to-back seasons, the Lady Conchs made the State 4A Final Four and were Region 4 Champions. They were the District 16 4A Champions four years in a row and were tournament co-champions in the 2023 Orange Bowl Classic Spring Break.

“We would like to congratulate these players that will be playing at the collegiate level next year:” reads the proclamation, “Ty Marie Cervantes – Dade College, Darmah Murray – University of South Florida and Miesha Hernandez – St. Thomas University.”

The proclamation also gave a special thank you to Head Coach Jason Garcia, Assistant Coach Eric Snow, Assistant Coach Jewls Castillo and Statistician Chad Rodriguez.

“On behalf of the entire community, we applaud these young athletes and wish them much continued success.”
