KW Garden Club Meeting April 6

Florida Keys historian and writer, Brad Bertelli, will be the featured speaker at the Key West Garden Club’s regular monthly meeting on Thursday, April 6, at 1:30 PM at West Martello, 1100 Atlantic Blvd.  Mr. Bertelli will recount the story of the Key West wrecker Captain Ben Baker and how he introduced pineapple farming to the Florida Keys. We will explore the life of Baker, his impact on Key Largo, and the rise and fall of the pineapple industry. The meeting is free and open to the public.
