Woman arrested after stealing vehicle  

A 49-year-old Key West woman was arrested Wednesday after stealing a pickup truck from a Stock Island marina.

Jennifer Renee Brown was charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and possession of pills without a prescription.

The Sheriff’s Office responded to Beach Weekend marina, formerly Murray Marine, at approximately 6:17 p.m. regarding the theft of a Chevrolet pickup truck. The owner stated he left the keys in the truck and the doors unlocked. The suspect, later identified as Brown, was seen in security video footage taking the vehicle. Deputies stopped Brown in the truck for speeding near Mile Marker 32 shortly thereafter.

Brown admitted to stealing the truck. Two bottles with prescription labels for someone else containing morphine and lorazepam pills were found in her possession.

Man arrested after knife incident

A 55-year-old Stock Island man was arrested Wednesday after threatening a woman with a knife. There were no serious injuries reported.

Armando Martinez-Corrales was charged with aggravated assault.

The 44-year-old female victim stated Martinez-Corrales grabbed a knife from her hands while she was preparing food at approximately 6:10 p.m. at a residence on 5th Avenue. He threatened to stab her and then left the premises.

Martinez-Corrales was found a short time later sleeping on a boat on 6th Avenue and was taken into custody.
