Community Foundation Offers Grants for Lower Keys Nonprofits Applications Due on Friday, May 27

The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations headquartered in the Lower Keys, to support projects that will benefit residents in communities from Big Coppitt to Big Pine Key. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 27 and the online application form is available at cffk.org/grants

“As a Sugarloaf resident myself, I am thrilled at this opportunity to support non-profits in the Lower Keys,” said Dr. Susanne Woods, board chair of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. “I know many groups are working to make Big Coppitt through Big Pine a happier, healthier, and even more beautiful place, and, thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Community Foundation can help.”

The Community Foundation has funds to offer small grants, typically up to $3000, to assist with specific programs, projects, and/or urgent needs, not to cover regular administrative costs. All grant decisions will be made by the Lower Keys Advisory Council, comprised of residents of the Lower Florida Keys, who will award its first round of grants in early June.

Applications must be submitted via this online portal. Only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations headquartered from Big Pine to Big Coppitt may apply. Please contact Kevin Bowes at [email protected] or 305-809-4992 with questions or for technical assistance with the online grant application.

These grants are made possible by donors to the Community Foundation’s Lower Keys Future Fund, which supports nonprofits in underserved Lower Keys communities in all areas, from the environment and education to healthcare and the arts, and more. Contributions to the Lower Keys Future Fund are currently being matched dollar-for-dollar by the Community Foundation. Learn more at cffk.org/lowerkeys..
