Monroe County Fleet Management Recognized as a Notable Fleet for 2022

MONROE COUNTY, FL –Monroe County’s Fleet Management Department was recognized by Government Fleet magazine as a notable fleet for 2022 and was ranked 11th by NAFA Fleet Management Association in the 100 Best Fleets in the Americas program. The programs recognize operations performance at a high level, particularly in fleet leadership, competitiveness and efficiency, planning for the future, and overcoming challenges. These programs encourage ever-increasing performance improvement and innovation within the public fleet industry. For comparison, there are more than 38,000 government fleets in North America.

Monroe County Fleet Management’s 20 employees operate three County garages and provide safety, maintenance, and repairs for approximately 850 vehicles, including 300 sheriff department vehicles. They are also responsible for the County’s 70 emergency generators and focus on being eco-friendly with high regard for safety. In 2021, Fleet Management completed 4,241 work orders.
