STATE PARK TO HOST “POWERFUL FORCES SHAPING PARADISE” PROGRAM

Learn about the Florida Keys’ unique coastline in this educational program at Long Key State Park Long

Key, Fla.– The Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Long Key State Park will host a, “Powerful Forces Shaping Paradise” program on Saturday, December 18, 2021, from 11 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

What do you imagine when you think of the word, beach? Why does the Florida Keys’ coastline break the mold? Join a Park Ranger at Long Key State Park to discover the unique geology and powerful forces that form our island paradise. This educational talk is wheelchair friendly and engaging for all ages through hands-on activities. There will be time for questions following the presentation.

Program will take place in a shady space outdoors, so please plan accordingly. This event is weather permitting and subject to cancellation. Program is free with regular park admission fee. (Vehicles with two-plus people: $5.00 + $0.50 per person. $4.50 for vehicle with single occupant. $2.50 per pedestrians, bicyclists, and passengers in vehicle with holder of Annual Individual Entrance Pass).
