Such an absurd and tragic mockery of justice. Shame on all the players involved and all the cheerleaders of denial. The latest video of Mr. Eimers’ dead body on the beach should convince the doubter of the concerted effort by the police and law enforcement to cover up their complicity in his death. The video recording of Chief Donnie Lee’s deposition is also an eye opener.
I believe people are forgiving when given a chance. If the police had come forward immediately after this tragic death and admitted their responsibility and begged for forgiveness the story today would be entirely different. They chose the cowards way and we, the city and citizens of Key West are paying the price.
Good coverage. The blue paper and all else I’ve seen say the service is Thanksgiving Day, at 6 p.m. Some of us down here knew right away what it took Rick many months to accept. We knew because we were not brainwashed gullible sheep, I suppose it the kindest way to say it.
The Eimers case demonstrates once again that even us white kids will pay the price for pissing off a cop. If you are a black kid and you live in Ferguson, Mo….
If such outrageous miscarriages of justice and subsequent coverups can be pulled off so easily by local authorities with a middle finger in our faces, just think what is going on in higher government. It’s about time that all of America becomes as outraged as the citizens of Ferguson. Notwithstanding, it appears the Michael Brown coverup is progressing the same way as the Eimers case. Who will watch the watchers?
The memorial is at 6 PM on Thanksgiving, not today. This was written for print publication on that day.

P.S. See you at the candlelight memorial on the beach.

You very eloquently expressed the troubling concerns any thoughtful reader has at this point.
