REEF RELIEF ANNOUNCES NEW SUMMER INTERNS

Reef Relief is excited to announce the arrival of our 2021 summer interns. They will assist with their annual Coral Camp for Kids program, fundraising events, and other volunteer opportunities.

Katie Fullick, from Stony Point, New York is a junior Marine Biology major at the University of Delaware. Since learning how to scuba dive, Katie’s passion for the ocean has grown. She hopes to work in ecotourism and marine education. She is extremely excited to gain experience and knowledge through the Reef Relief’s summer internship program

Chloe Spring, from Roseville, Minnesota, graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Biodiversity, as well as with two minors in Sustainability and Physics. Through her past internships and study abroad programs, she has been focusing on saving the coral reefs and hopes to continue those efforts in the future. Recently, she interned at Mote Marine Laboratory, in the Coral Reef Health and Disease Lab. Chloe is very passionate about coral and is excited to share her love to all the students this summer during Coral Camp. Her dream is to one day become a Coral Reef Ecologist.

Dayton Hamele, from Amherst, New Hampshire, is currently attending Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island. She is studying Environmental Science and, Psychology. She has spent the past couple summers as an assistant teacher in a Pre-k class but has always had a strong love and passion for all things marine science related and spends all her free time near the water. She hopes to pursue a career in marine biology and conservation. Dayton is very excited to join Reef Relief this summer to give her a hands-on experience working with a nonprofit and an increase of knowledge of the ocean ecosystems.

Tara McCracken, from New York City, attends Eckerd College. She is majoring in Environmental Studies and double minoring in Film Studies and Animal Behavior. In the past, she worked and shadowed scientists along with helping collect and analyze data for fisheries research at the Cape Eleuthera Institute at The Island School. That experience inspired her to want to make documentaries revolving around the environment and issues occurring in our oceans to bring awareness to people across different platforms. She is super excited to be able to teach young kids about conservation and inspire them.
