MCFR: Battalion Chief Alvin “Cab” Bentley Awarded 20 Years of Service Pin

MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Alvin “Cab” Bentley was awarded his 20 years of service pin for his dedicated service to the Florida Keys community.

“It’s been a fantastic journey and I continue to be fortunate and blessed to serve the citizens and visitors of Monroe County,” said Bentley.

At 11 years old, Bentley was a junior fireman with his father’s volunteer fire department before becoming a paramedic before starting with Monroe County Fire Rescue in 2000 as a Firefighter/Paramedic. He was drawn to the morale and camaraderie at Monroe County Fire Rescue.

In 2002, Bentley was promoted to Battalion Chief and in 2012 moved to Key West International Airport Fire Station 7, where he oversees all Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) operations and services.

“BC Bentley has made such a positive impact on ARFF operations since being assigned to this post,” said Deputy Chief Steve Hudson. “He exemplifies customer service and always serves our community with pride and dignity.”
