CFFK Awards Historic First Grant to New Nonprofit

The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys (CFFK) is providing the very first grant to Cornerstone Resource Alliance, the new nonprofit which received the contract to manage Key West’s homeless shelter. The $5,000 grant is from the Marion Stevens Fund at CFFK and will support the Keys Overnight Temporary Shelter (KOTS) and case management services. Grant monies will purchase computers, data collection equipment, and other electronic equipment needed to provide and record client services.

The support from the Marion Stevens Fund, created at CFFK in 2001, is in keeping with causes the late activist championed, including improving quality of life, advancing those entities improving humanity, and creating change in our community.

“We’re very excited to be able to partner with Cornerstone Resource Alliance,” says Reverend Steve Torrence, one of the Marion Stevens Fund Advisors. “We understand that KOTS is an integral part of our community and are so happy that our grant will enable them to provide more services to those in need. Marion had a passion for helping people, and we’re grateful to be able to continue her legacy.”

Cornerstone Resource Alliance expects to provide over 3,000 bed nights at KOTS and 179 case management services monthly. More information about CFFK grants and funds is available at cffk.org.
