MONROE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE PROMOTES DANY RIBOT TO CAPTAIN

STOCK ISLAND, FL – Capt. Dany Ribot joined Monroe County Fire Rescue in 2011 and recently completed his testing to become a captain. Testing included a written exam and practical tabletop exercises, and interviews related to policy and procedures. He scored the highest out of those who applied.

“I am honored to be recognized and promoted,” said Ribot. “The process has been long, and I look forward to many years of continued service to the community and working with my coworkers at fire rescue.”

He has been in the Florida Keys since 2006 and started as a volunteer in Key Largo Fire Department before being hired by Monroe County in 2011. He is an instructor for Intercontinental Fire Training Academy for special operations in South Florida – like rope rescue, technical rescue. He was also involved in the securing the grant funding for the recent hazardous materials training that took place earlier this year.

“I am appreciative of my fire rescue mentors who taught me throughout my career,” he said. He is currently serving at Station 8 on Stock Island.

“Captain Ribot has been an outstanding employee for our organization,” said Monroe County Deputy Chief Steve Hudson. “We are all very proud of his accomplishment and we are confident he can handle any challenges and responsibilities that come with his new position.”
