12th Annual Monroe County Red Mass scheduled for Friday March 6th

The Most Reverend Thomas G. Wenski, Archbishop Miami, will celebrate the 12th Annual Monroe County Mass on Friday March 6, 20202 at 12:00 noon at the Basilica of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Key West.  The Basilica is located at the corner of Truman Avenue and Windsor Lane in Key West.
The Red Mass is celebrated to recognize the noble and valuable work performed by the Judiciary, attorneys, and all who assist them.  It is a tradition in the Catholic Church which dates from the 13th Century.  The tradition of the Red Mass has continued in the United States. In Washington, D.C., the members of the United States Supreme Court join the President and members of Congress in the celebration at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. The Red Mass is now celebrated in most state capitals and major cities throughout the United States.

The Mass will be open to all people of good will.  For more information, please contact Father John Baker, 305-294-1018.
