CoffeeMill’s March 7 “Garden Party for Dance” to help fund the Young Dance Collective & upcoming Swan Lake performance
CoffeeMill Dance Studio invited you to don your florals, fedoras, and fascinators for the “Garden Party for Dance,” a limited-ticket fundraiser set for Saturday, March 7, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the private residence of studio patrons Claus Jensen and Henrik Holbaek to help support the Young Dance Collective, the studio’s pre-professional, nonprofit student dance company. The spring soiree will feature dance performances in the beautiful gardens by the company, music by father/daughter duo Matt and Belle Jampol, delectable edibles, and libations. All proceeds will help fund the production of the company’s 3rd Annual “Evening of Dance” performance on Friday, April 4 at the Tennessee Williams Theater featuring Act II of “Swan Lake” and original works from their award-winning repertoire.
The dedicated student dancers aged 9-17 include Julia Bakalaraska, Vivian Carper, Ryan Fossum, Tori Gregg, Madison Harding, Reese Kight, Lucy Kilpatrick, Khassidi Marsh, Hamida Muhsinova, Isabella Nodal, Emily Pucahuranga, Alanna Shanle, Mila Siegert, Sia Singh, Katrina Stolka, Nela Sulak, and Lilliana Valeus. Led by the classically-trained ballet dancer Joseph Goodman and CoffeeMill dance instructor and choreographer Kara Querio, the young dancers are offered an academy-like study and discipline with a rigorous syllabus in the Russian-based Vaganova technique and rehearse six days a week for multiple performance opportunities throughout the year, including street fairs, parades, nursing homes, Fantasy Fest’s Coronation and Children’s Day, and Spring and Fall performances at the Tennessee Williams Theatre. The company has garnered numerous gold standard awards and scholarships at NUVO Dance Competition in Orlando, and travels to dance workshops and competitions regionally and nationally.
Tickets to the “Garden Party for Dance” are $35 and can be purchased at the door or at the CoffeeMill Dance Studio, Key West’s premier instructional dance studio for 37 years, is home to The Young Dance Collective and is located at ‘The Annex’ at 804 White Street and ‘By the Bay’ at 3340 North Roosevelt Blvd. #2.
