It was an exciting afternoon for the kids of Key West and all the hard-working individuals who made it happen as the community gathered to cut the ribbon on the new Police Athletic League Gym at City Hall, 1030 United Street.

PAL board members, the Mayor and City Commissioners, City officials, student athletes, and uniformed officers joined the celebration and toured the new facility. PAL President Steve Torrence did the honors. Even former PAL President Frank Lalama returned to Key West to attend the ceremony.

Volunteer instructors offer everything from boxing and wrestling to Jiu Jitsu for the kids. PAL offers a multitude of ways to build structure and self confidence in children while strengthening the bonds between kids and police.
