Arlo Haskell is a poet, writer, publisher, historian, and educator. He was born and raised in Key West, he is a graduate of Key West High School. Afterwards, he attended Bard, where he studied Poetry,  and was a student of John Ashbury. 

As a publisher, Arlo founded Sand Piper Press in 2003, where he produces acclaimed books by American and Argintine poets. The ” Joker ” a collection of his own poetry was published in 2009.

An active educator,  Arlo developed ” The Young Writers Studio ” for Monroe County High School students. A free program that teaches writing, focusing on our rich and important literary history. 

Currently, Arlo  Haskell is the Executive Director of The Key West Literary  Seminar, where he has a history of bringing leading contemporary poets to our Island. He is also the current Poet Laureate for the City of Key West .
