Each day this week, Konk Life will be sharing with you images of banners prepared by the children of Sigsbee Charter School in preperation for the upcoming Soldier Ride.    Today we want to share with you one of the banners hanging along the route.  Key West is the first and only Community for Soldier Ride that welcomes these injured soldiers with banners showing our support for them and the sacrifices they have made.

Soldier Ride has been coming to Key West since 2006 and for the past nine (9) years the Key West Military Affairs Committee (MAC) and the NASKW CPOA (Chief Petty Officers Association) have been honored to sponsor and organize this event.  This Saturday, January 11th the 44 Warriors and their support staff will ride down RT1 from the Boca Chica NAS making their way to the opening ceremonies at Bayview Park.  Their route will take them past the Triangle, down North Roosevelt  to White Street, down Eaton Street to Simonton, turn on Front Street to Duval and then to Truman Avenue back to Bayview.

Members of the community are encouraged to cheer the Warriors along the route as they reclaim their confidence and strength. Opening Ceremonies will be at  Bayview Park starting at 11:45. It is recommended that you be at your chosen location along the route by 10:15 – 10:30 AM

Help make a difference and cheer the Warriors on
