Mayor Teri Johnston commended the Horace O’Bryant Middle School Buccaneers Football Team
Mayor Teri Johnston and the City Commission, during Wednesday’s meeting, commended the Horace O’Bryant Middle School Buccaneers Football Team for displaying their extraordinary strength, discipline, determination and hard work in achieving the Tri-County Middle School Conference Championship.
“In their quest to become champions,” reads the proclamation, “the HOB Buccaneers defeated well-known rivals like Westminster Christian School, University School, Gulliver Prep, Doral Academy, American Heritage and Belen Jesuit.”
Finishing their season with an undefeated record, the Bucs averaged 28 points per game and 275 yards rushing per game at a level where the quarters were only eight minutes long. Their first team defense only gave up six points the entire season, and they outscored their opponents 185-35.
