Key West Artisan Market Kicks Off Season October 20
The first Key West Artisan Market of the Season is October 4 and locals are excited the monthly meet-up is back. Organizers announced this season will continue at the Higgs Beach location which offers space for approximately 80 artists, crafters, makers and growers who live and work in the Keys and Homestead. “The locals love the park setting, the beautiful views of the ocean and the easy access to free parking,” Sean Krikorian, Market Organizer said.
The Markets are opening earlier this year to coincide with the Zombie Bike Ride. The official “Zombie Bike Ride Pre-Party” Edition – rise and ride to the occasion will be from 10 am to 2 pm and offer a fun experience for riders to start their day. Guests can enjoy bloody’s, mimosas along with a full bar from Great Events Catering, smoothies, natural juices and cut fruit, multiple food trucks and stalls offering eat-here or take-away for snacking or a delicious pre-Zombie meal.
Guests may shop a curated outdoor market offering fine crafts and art from talented Florida Keys makers. Each week there’s an awesome lineup of musicians, The X Key West radio show broadcasting live and local celebrity authors signing books. For October 20 visitors can get painted for the Zombie Ride at one of the makeup booths and support the featured charity, Little Pink Houses of Hope who will be raising awareness for October Breast Cancer month.
The Key West Artisan Market encourages green practices and recommends riding bicycles to the show, BYOB (bring your own bags) and recycling.
