New Key West Mayors Ball this January: New year, new location, new life

The Key West Mayors Ball will take a rejuvenated breath of fresh air coming this January supporting three nonprofits benefiting local children: Wesley House Family Services, Michelle’s Foundation, and Kids Come First. The event plans to raise more money than ever before.

The elegant and formal Key West celebration will take place on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 under the stars at the Southernmost House celebrating Key West Mayor Teri Johnson and the community as a whole. The formal theme will incorporate “Star Light, Star Bright, Let’s Help the Children Tonight.”

“Wesley House is honored to have been asked to be one of the beneficiaries of this event honoring Mayor Teri Johnson and supporting children and families served by our agency,” said Beth Barrett, Executive Director of Wesley House Family Services. Each of the nonprofits fill gaps for children in need, be it foster care services, tutoring, meals, and college preparations, or simply a pair of shoes for a child who can’t afford it.

The revived event will include guest appearances filled with local flare and music provided by the Prime Movers to keep the guests shaking and grooving. Dinner will be provided by the Iron Chefs, making ticket sales 100 percent charity-based.

Individual tickets will go on sale on Oct. 20. Tickets are $150, which includes dinner, dancing, and for the first time, an open bar, and can be bought on www.keystix.com. Tables of 10 and event sponsorships are on presale now by calling 850-221-2338. The event will sell out.

“The Key West Mayors Ball will be a refreshed way to celebrate Key West,” said Kris Pabian, who is planning the ball with her close-knit group of friends. “So please plan on dressing up to dance the night away, and join us in this opportunity to start fresh, honor our community, and help our children so desperately in need.”
