Let’s Talk About Mental Health in Monroe County!
Is our community “behavioral health” friendly?
Key West, Florida, September 12, 2019 – The Health Council of South Florida (HCSF), in partnership with Thriving Mind South Florida, is hosting a free Community Forum where members of the community, consumers, family members, supporters, caregivers and providers are invited to attend and share their thoughts and feedback on what it’s like to access behavioral health services to address mental health and substance abuse in Monroe County.
We want to know – what’s working in our community? What kind of services do we need in place to address behavioral health? How do we better support families and caregivers? Is our community “behavioral health” friendly? Information gathered from this conversation will assist Thriving Mind South Florida in the development of the 2020 – 2022 Behavioral Health Needs Assessment.
Thriving Mind South Florida (Contracting as South Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc.) promotes access to effective, accountable and compassionate care for individuals and families in our community with mental illnesses and substance use disorders. We fund and oversee a safety net of services for uninsured individuals in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, with a total population of almost 3 million people, supported by Florida’s Department of Children and Families and other public and private sources.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 with two options available, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm OR 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Harvey Government Center, Commission Chambers, 1200 Truman Avenue, Key West, FL 33040. No RSVP is required to attend.
