Man arrested after street ruckus 

A 34-year-old Marathon man was arrested early Sunday morning after fighting with neighbors

Phernando Torres Hill was charged with assault and resisting arrest without violence.

Multiple Deputies were called to the 100 block of 42nd Street at 12:26 a.m. regarding a fight in progress in the street. Deputies and a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper arrived to find residents screaming at each other. A 911 caller stated Hill was instigating the commotion.

Deputies pointed a Taser® at Hill, but did not discharge it, in order to restrain Hill. Neighbors said Hill was acting aggressively and wanted to fight several people. Hill appeared intoxicated. He went limp was Deputies tried to put him in a patrol car, scrapping his knees on the ground. Hill did not follow verbal commands to get in the car.

One resident at the scene said Hill charged him and attempted to hit him, but the resident moved out of the way.

Hill was taken to Fishermen’s Hospital for treatment to his knees before he was taken to jail.

There were no reported serious injuries.
