There is Still Time to File Taxes for FREE with VITA
Florida Keys – The April 15 income tax deadline is fast approaching. Don’t pay to get your taxes done! United Way of the Florida Keys is offering 2 FREE tax preparation options for Monroe County residents with limited incomes. The VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program assists qualified taxpayers with completion of their annual tax return, to ensure that families receive every available benefit, and MyFreeTaxes.com offers online, easy to complete tax returns.
VITA volunteer tax preparers are IRS-certified and prepared to complete simple tax returns, including identifying available credits for those earning less than $55,000 in 2018. There is absolutely no charge to the taxpayer for this service.
