Contemporary Women in Art
Suzanne Donazetti & Jean Pederson
February 4 – 18, 2019
Opening Reception: Monday, February 4th – 6-8pm
Today, more than ever, women are taking their noted places, rightfully so, both in art history and as contemporary artists of today. These two noted women continue to draw viewers, collectors, and peers to their work.
We are delighted to present their latest body of work.
Suzanne Donazetti’s woven copper pieces with three-dimensional forms are a spectacular way to combine painting and sculpting.
“Matt Rilling and I, my apprentice, have collaborated on several pieces in this show to portray the unique landscapes of Key West. Living as I do in the desert where water is precious I love painting the sea and the play of light on the water. And of course the splendid sunsets in Key West are famous the world over.“
Jean Pederson continues captivate us with her amazing figures paralleled with her abstract work.
“Every subject has a story and every story has layers both subtle and intentional.
The process of translating those layers into a painting is both challenging and satisfying.
Art is often defined as the communication of ideas in visual form. There is a plethora of subjects, mediums and techniques to choose from. It is my intention to paint meaningful images with purposeful layers of paint and collage. Each layer matures the surface enriching the story conveyed to the viewer.”
