Woman arrested for robbery

A 49-year-old Marathon woman who claimed she had a revolver was arrested Sunday for robbing two women.

Leanne Margaret Silverman was charged with robbery, kidnapping and lying to law enforcement officers.

Deputy Corbin Hradecky was called to 84th Street about 1:30 a.m. where he found two female victims. The narrative of how the incident transpired is still under investigation, but the victims stated they had recently met Silverman. Sometime early Monday morning, the two victim’s got into Silverman’s car, with Silverman driving. The victims were under the impression they were going to J.J.’s Dog House & Sports Bar.

Silverman stopped the car on U.S. 1 and told the two women she had .22-caliber revolver and demanded money. No gun was found during the investigation and whether she ever had one is part of that investigation. One of the woman gave Silverman a $100 bill and stated that’s all she had. Both victims then asked Silverman to take them home or let them out of the car, but Silverman continued to drive. Silverman reportedly abandoned the car with the victims inside.

Silverman called 911 while deputies were looking for her and her vehicle. Silverman stated she was with her car at the Sea Grapes apartments. Deputies found here there. Silverman gave conflicting statements about what transpired.

Silverman was taken to jail.
