FENCE REPAIR WORK TO BEGIN AT WATSON FIELD PARK’S TENNIS COURTS AND DOG PARK

On Monday, Jan. 21, work will begin on replacing the fences around the tennis courts and dog park at Watson Park Field. The fences were damaged by Hurricane Irma.

During the estimated two-week construction period, the contractor will make every effort to minimize disruptions for patrons, but some may occur.

This work is part of Monroe County’s $579,000 project to replace hurricane-damaged fencing at Watson Field Park, Big Pine Community Park and Blue Heron Park, all on Big Pine Key.

The project began at the ballfield at Watson Park (30150 South Street). New fencing around the ballfield is nearly complete.

The project will continue next at Big Pine Community Park (31009 Atlantis Drive), followed by Blue Heron Park (30451 Lytton’s Way). Construction is expected to be completed in April 2019.
