The Senate Committee hearings with Brett Kavanaugh and his accusers are about truth, who’s lying (about matters large or small), and the character, credibility, temperament and qualifications of Judge Kavanaugh for lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court.
A moment of peace seemed to break out on Capital Hill last Friday in the midst of a tribal war in the Senate. A bipartisan agreement to pause the rush to approve Judge Kavanaugh, so there could be a one week investigation to provide the Senate and the American people with additional facts and information before a Senate vote. But there was confusion and alarm over the weekend about the fact that the FBI was instructed to conduct a farcical and partisan investigation – a fig leaf limited to only 4 witnesses, and to certain subjects, by the White House and Senate leadership. That so-called investigation would be a sham; a phony and perverted pretense; and a handcuffing of the FBI’s apolitical function.
By Monday (10/1), conservative Republican Sen. Flake (who voted “yes” for Kavanaugh in Committee), said the FBI investigation must be “real’, ‘fulsome” and the FBI must be free to do it’s job and interview “any current credible witness”.
Sen. Flake, the majority of the Senate Committee, a majority in the Senate, the FBI, and a majority of the American people all agree. What must happen is a full, fair, nonpartisan and transparent FBI investigation that helps the Senate and the public see the truth, who’s lying, and whether Judge Kavanaugh meets the nation’s standards for Supreme Court Justice.

The President himself dispelled such rumors, likely spread by obstructionists, to prolong the agony of a demonstrated witch hunt. Predictably, the writer of this letter to the editor grabbed the turd by the non-smelly end to perpetrate a lie.

The editorial writer has cherry picked facts and details and has ignored the repeated statements by the President and White House that they have NOT limited or restricted the FBI investigation. The writer perpetuates Fake News and so does this publication.
The Letter was written several days ago… the facts have changed.
You guys are all wrong, This is not an investigation but a “matter” (quoting disgraced Dir Comey). Heavy sarcasm intended.
Talk about ignorance by the writer. The FBI has no jurisdiction in this “matter” as no federal crime has been committed.
This is also true about the SF-86 security clearance form (or whatever version was used). There are no questions asked to answer about the issues raised. (no criminal charges were ever filed). So there is no issue with lying on the form (18USC1001), a federal matter.
The FBI’s role is to conduct a SPIN case. Simply a job application verification and references “matter”. The FBI’s sole job is to check database records such as birth and criminal checks, conduct witness interviews and provide them to Congress. The FBI cannot compel anyone to submit to an interview, no requests for subpoenas for records, no search warrants or a grand jury. No conclusion is ever reached. SPIN cases are an immediate priority and work (once assigned) is to be completed in 24 hours (if humanly possible).
FBI Director Wray will not issue a statement or reach a conclusion like disgraced Dir Comey did in the Clinton e-mail “matter”.
Guy, actually the facts didn\’t change. The writer jumped to conclusions and assumed certain facts which were incorrect from the beginning.
