Key West Burlesque is excited to announce their 12th annual season of shows from October-April! The exhilarating production schedule opens Friday, October 19th at the Waterfront Playhouse with “Madame DuJour’s Magical Game Show and Burlesque Experience”. The original show stars Key West Burlesque favorites Moana Amour, Chief Peach, and the Key West Burlesque Dancers. They are joined by international sensations Miss Jenna Beth, Nick Locapo, and a nightly rotating cast of special guest performers including Cheeky Derrière, Aurora Natrix, and Sofia Luna. The awe-inspiring cast will bump and grind their way into your hearts with this outrageous season opener that will keep you wanting more.
Whether you’ve seen burlesque in various locations around the world or you’re thinking of coming to a show for the first time, you can expect much more than variety of strip tease acts from Key West Burlesque. Unlike other troupes, they offer full scale theatrical productions and parodies such as 2017’s “Taking it Off to See The Wizard of Oz,” and “Sugar Rum Cherry: A Burlesque Nutcracker” along with an array of original shows. Key West Burlesque entertains with glimmering costuming, sets, and choreography as well as a cavalcade of professional entertainers.
Creator and director Christa Hunt, who performs as the the Conch Republic’s Queen of Burlesque Tatah Dujour says “Our shows are dance-filled, comedy driven, and action packed! We are a glittering, sparkly variety of magicians, aerialists, pole dancers, roller skaters, ballet dancers, live vocalists, drag kings and queens, who love to perform!”
This year the troupe has lined up a mix of big-stage extravaganzas and smaller, more intimate productions that will include top burlesque performers from across the globe as well as the talented local girls and guys the southern most city has come to know and love! Along with their first show of the season “Madame DuJour’s Magical Game Show and Burlesque Experience”, the “11th Annual Holiday Show Spectacular”, and an end of season show with the Bea Bea Banda, Key West Burlesque will be launching “Backroom Burlesque and Cabaret” at the Sidebar on December 28 and 29, 2018. The show will run Friday and Saturday nights through the end of February, possibly longer!
“We will continue to showcase the best in burlesque and variety entertainment this season and you will have more opportunities to see them!” says Hunt.
