Announcing the Winners of the Robert Frost Poetry Contest for Children and Teens

The Studios of Key West is pleased to announce the 2018 winners of the Robert Frost Poetry Contest for Children and Teens. Merit awards, certificates, and prizes were awarded at a ceremony on Saturday, May 5 at The Studios.

Winners of the contest in the Children’s category were Pavel Ivan, First Place; Cinthia Sancho, Second Place; Janie Sperry, Third Place; and honorable mentions were awarded to George Febus, Hunter White, Claudia Polizze, and Carlie Hamlin.

In the Teen category, top place winners were Carly Neilson, First Place; Marina Doyle and Aliyah Gonzalez, Second Place; Jonathan Bahri, Third Place; Zoe Hays. Gwen Gaines, and Dharma Murray were awarded honorable mentions.

Through funds established by the Jeane and Jessie Porter Fund at the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, The Studios is proud to administer a special component of this contest. Jeane Porter was especially committed to encouraging young writers, and supported the Poetry in Schools contest in Monroe County.
