Man arrested for causing a disturbance/threatening deputy

A 33-year-old Islamorada man was arrested Sunday for threating a Sheriff’s Office deputy after causing a disturbance at a restaurant.

Jason Christopher Holloway was charged with possessing a threatening a law enforcement officer, possessing a forged or fraudulent ID and resisting arrest.

The incident began at about noon at the Marker 88 restaurant. A manager there told Deputy Matthew O’Neill that Holloway had been causing problems at the bar and had been asked not to return. On Sunday, he called an employee a racial slur before finally leaving.

Deputies found Holloway on Plantation Boulevard. Holloway at first stated his first name was not Jason. He then stated his name was Jason Robert Holloway. He declined multiple times to provide his date of birth.

He was arrested. A driver license belonging to someone else was found in his possession.

While in route to the jail, Holloway stated “You’re going to have a bad day. I know where you live at. I can find out.” Additionally, Holloway stated he had contacts in the DEA who could assist him in locating Deputy O’Neill’s address.

Upon arrival at the Plantation Key jail, Holloway was non-compliant with the booking process and continued to refuse answering questions.
