American Red Cross South Florida Region Celebrates Grand Opening of New Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Office­­

MIAMI, April 11, 2018 — The American Red Cross South Florida Region celebrated the Grand Opening of the New Service to Armed Forces (SAF) Office on Monday, April 9 at Naval Branch Health Clinic Key West. Service members, veterans, family members, and Red Cross representatives attended the ceremony held in Key West, Florida.

At 11 a.m. on Monday, Cmdr. Duneley Rochino, NBHC Key West officer in charge officiated the Grand Opening of the new Red Cross SAF Key West office and provided the opening remarks.

The ceremony proceeded with guest and military personnel rising for the National Anthem, following an invocation by Chaplain Scott Mason.

Guest Speakers for the event included: Naval Air Station Key West Commanding Officer Capt. Bobby Baker and American Red Cross Regional Chief Executive Officer, Joanne Nowlin.

The Grand Opening ceremony followed with a ribbon cutting and reception.

The Red Cross SAF Key West office will be open on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and provide the following services:

  • Emergency Communications and messaging for military members and their families
  • Resiliency and Reconnection Workshops for military members, veterans and their families
  • Disaster preparedness support
  • Information and referral services
