LOCAL GUEST HOUSE OWNER OFFERS FLORIDA KEYS SPCA $50,000 MATCH CHALLENGE
Learning that the Florida Keys SPCA (FKSPCA) needed $300,000 to complete its new shelter on College Road, Naomi Van Steelandt, owner of Center Court Historic Inn & Cottages on Center Street in Key West, has offered to match up to $50,000 in donations. “The FKSPCA is close to my heart and I wanted to help them reach their goal,” Naomi said. “We have just begun a new tax year for charitable tax-deductible donations and it seemed the perfect time to reach out to our community for such a great cause,” she added.
Capital Campaign chair and FKSPCA president-elect, Jeff Johnson, commented, “We couldn’t be more delighted. This wonderful, generous offer will be a terrific boost to get us to the finish line and open the new shelter on schedule.”
To be eligible for the match, which ends on March 31, checks must be marked “MATCH” and sent or delivered to the FKSPCA shelter at 5230 College Rd. Key West FL 33040.
