FRIENDS OF THE MARATHON LIBRARY SPEAKER SERIES

The Friends of the Marathon Library Speaker Series welcomes Keys writer Michael Haskins to its February 15th meeting.
Haskins is an ex-journalist and spent a few years as the City of Key West’s public information officer, before turning to writing fulltime. He has been a resident of the Keys for twenty-plus years.

Originally from Boston, Haskins has lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Los Angeles, and Tijuana, Mexico before moving to the Florida Keys.

His nine-book series features journalist Mick Murphy and an array of Keys characters that, he says, “Are real people that I throw into fictitious situations and sometimes surprise myself with what happens.”

Haskins new book, Mistaken Identity, will be released this spring.

Friends of the Marathon Library Speaker Series is held at 1:30 pm, at the St. Columbia Episcopal Church, 451 52nd Street, Gulf Side, in Marathon.

All are welcome and the event is free.
