Re-greening the Keys!
Celebrate the recovery of the Keys as GardenFest, a fair of nature, arts, crafts, food and entertainment for the whole family, returns to the Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden on Saturday & Sunday, February 17th and 18th, 10am to 4pm. Free admission!
Shop for plants, and artworks amid the cooling greenery that is rapidly regenerating at our arboretum. This is your chance to learn more about native plants from the Garden’s knowledgeable volunteers and acquire some specimens propagated on-site, as well as plants brought in by other growers. And don’t pass by the information booths – they’ll help with your revival.
A special presentation, “Greening the Keys” by Alison Higgins, Key West Sustainability Coordinator, is scheduled in the Nature Chapel at 1:30 on Saturday afternoon. Find out how we can all be more sensitive to our environment.
Crafts and art feature nature-themes or are made from earth-friendly or recycled materials. Take a break and enjoy entertainment and refreshments (include those suitable for those over 21) in our Courtyard – our “beer garden”! Yes, there will be food and fun for the little ones, as well; even Kids Corner to keep them occupied.
KWTF&BG is located on College Road, Stock Island, near the light just over Cow Key bridge. Go to www.keywest.garden for details and schedule or call 305-296-1504.
