Party with Historic Twist Took Attendees “Back in Time”
Wednesday night’s Key West Art & Historical Society second annual “Back in Time” fundraiser celebrated the Custom House’s 126th anniversary in fabulous 50’s style. The bash kicked off with cocktails and entertainment by the Fabulous Spectrelles on the Custom House veranda, then moved to Margaritaville Resort’s Grand Ballroom – soup-ed up for 50’s style rockin’ round the clock. The evening featured live tunes by Patrick & the Swayzees, a silent auction, fabulous 50’s dining – complete with soda fountain, costume and dance contests, and presentation of the 2017 Scotti Merrill Preservation Award to Florida Keys historian Tom Hambright. Event proceeds support the ongoing preservation needs of Key West’s architectural crown jewel, with silent auction proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity’s hurricane recovery efforts.
