Letter to The Editor

By George Fontana

And so the Waterfront Theater season is off to a rousing start. Vicki Roush, Laurie Breakwell and Danny Weathers appeared over the weekend in Triple Threat – a perfect showcase for their singular and combined talents. Danny Weathers jokingly remarked after the show: “I just love to prance onstage”. And so he does. This preacher’s son mugging, singing, mugging, dancing as if “working for the Lord”. Vicki Roush, unquestionably a force of Nature equal to Irma in power (but benign), commanded the stage as she delivered the timely “Endangered Species”, especially poignant in today’s climate of #MeToo. Elegant Laurie Breakwell, she of the smokey contralto, offered a moving cover of the Kansas blockbuster “Dust In The Wind” holding the audience spellbound. Triple Threat cleared the dust in the wind from our battered but defiant island city. Brava! Bravo!
