13 PATIENTS TRANSPORTED FROM LOWER KEYS MEDICAL CENTER BY C-130 TO ALABAMA

MONROE COUNTY, FL – Monroe County Fire Rescue, Key West Fire Department, American Medical Response (private company) and the National Guard evacuated 13 patients from the Lower Keys Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon.

To escape Hurricane Irma, the patients were transported by ambulances to Naval Air Station Key West on Boca Chica Key. They were put on a C-130 from the North Carolina National Guard and flown to Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Alabama.
