Special Olympics Florida-Monroe County to Host Area 11 Swim Games

Who: Over 100 athletes, coaches, and volunteers from Monroe County and Miami-Dade County

What: Area 11 (Covering Monroe County and Miami-Dade County) Swim Games

Where: Ron Levy Aquatics Center at Founders Park, 87000 Overseas Highway, Islamorada, FL 33036

When: August 19, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Special Olympics athletes will be competing for advancement to Special Olympics Florida State Swim Games on Oct. 7-8, at North County Regional Park, Sebastion, Florida

Swim events will be held for a variety of abilities, Officiated by John Olson from Founders Park and Special Olympics Florida officials.

Lunches are provided by Jersey Boardwalk Pizza, with donations from Islamorada CVS, Winn Dixie, with FKAA supporting the hydration needs of the athletes.
An array of volunteers are needed to support this large swim competition, experienced swim timers, law enforcement officials for awards and opening ceremonies, staging and awards support, serving lunches, playing games in the athlete village; school students can receive community service hours.
